Fun Facts & Things to Do

The town’s contribution to the art scene of WA continues with the The Collie Mural Trail. This is an expansive outdoor art gallery, connecting Wellington Dam with Collie’s town centre. The trail tells stories about the Collie River Valley’s living heritage – strong voices from local people and places.
Throughout the town centre are an incredible 45 different murals with more appearing all the time. Everywhere you look a local artist has captured a unique aspect of life in the town and in the Collie region. The Visitor’s Centre has a free brochure/map giving you details and locations of all these artworks.
Keep an eye out during your picnic adventure and see how many you can locate as you go.
The Trail’s jewel in the crown is the phenomenal mural at Wellington Dam. Painted directly on to the actual dam wall this world record-breaking 8000 sqm mural is entitled Reflections and explores the place the river has had in the lives of the people of Collie over the years.
