Fun Facts & Things to Do

If you fancy a day on the water while you’re here why not book in for a Donnelly River Cruise – starting point is just a few kilometres from Pemberton and a courtesy bus runs from Manjimup, check for details at the Visitor’s Centre.

The Donnelly River passes through jarrah forest, paperbark trees and wetlands. A great way
to explore this iconic natural beauty is to hop on a daily Donnelly River Cruise.

Admire the region’s diversity from the water with host Peter who has plenty of knowledge
about the area’s geology, flora and fauna. He’s also known for his delicious homemade muffins which you can dig into for morning tea.

At the mouth of the river, you’ll have the chance to disembark and stroll along soft white beaches that are virtually isolated, except for a few locals trying their hand at beach fishing.

For the walkers and cyclists, The Deanmill Heritage Trail is an old rail line that has been converted into a multi-use trail that also forms part of the Munda
Biddi Trail.
This moderately flat, well-defined trail takes you through bush and farmland. The trail starts at Manjimup and finishes at the Deanmill.

Whether you choose to walk or cycle this 5.5km trail be sure to visit in spring and take in the abundance of wildflowers on display.
